The Indian Cultural Centre's (ICC) Students Forum conducted a virtual speech session, 'Remembering Social Reformers of India,' on Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Dr B R Ambedkar and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Chief guest and keynote speaker, educationist Dr Anu Jossan, emphasised the need for developing an understanding of the key role played by social reformers in the formation of modern India, and the hardships and sacrifices made by them.
ICC president P N Baburajan appreciated Dr Jossan and commended the students.
The event was steered by Kamla Thakur, head activity co-ordinator and education.
The master of ceremony was Asna Fatimah (Bhavan's Public School). Fathimatuz Zahra (MES Indian School) welcomed the guest and attendees. The vote of thanks was by Saumya Tibrewal (DPS Modern Indian School).
Students Arya Nanda (Ideal Indian School), Yayati Datta Kanteti (DPS Monarch), Nandini Pathak (DPS MIS), Abbas Thakkkura (Loyola International School), Jagan Binu (MES), Juwairiyah Mohamed (MES) and Sahaanaa Nagarajan (Birla Public School) spoke on the occasion.
ICC vice-president Subramanya Hebbagelu and general secretary Krishna Kumar addressed the session. Students from various schools, parents, teachers, and Indian community members participated in the event.
