IBPC, MPF host 'Qatar Maha Trade Expo'

The Indian Business and Professionals Council (IBPC) in association with Maharashtra Professional Forum (MPF) recently hosted the ‘Qatar Maha Trade Expo’, an initiative by IBPC coordinating officer, Angeline Premalatha, who is counsellor (Political & Commerce) at the Embassy of India.Indian ambassador Dr. Deepak Mittal inaugurated the expo, a virtual buyer seller meet between importers from Qatar and exporters from Maharashtra State in India, which involved more than 50 participants dealing in food and organic products, MEP equipment and bio fertilisers. Mittal emphasised on supporting and encouraging SME enterprises from Maharashtra. Chandrakant Salunkhe, founder and president, SME Chamber of India Federation, in his keynote address, focused on Qatar’s desire for sustainable lifestyle and organic products.Guest of honour Ghanim al-Sulaiti, CEO, Enbad Holdings Qatar, gave the participants a glimpse of future changes and the importance for businesses in Qatar to focus on sustainability in both products and supply chain. Indian exporters used the platform to showcase their products and services in multiple industry specific interactive breakout sessions, allowing potential buyers from Qatar to meet, source information and view the latest offerings from SMEs in Maharashtra. IBPC president Jaffer Us Sadik stressed on the importance of IBPC’s role in providing a platform and engagement opportunities to help enhance bilateral trade and investments between India and Qatar.Rupalakshmi Setty, IBPC and Chandrashekar Angadi, MPF were the joint masters of ceremony for the event. IBPC is an apex body operating under the aegis of Embassy of India in Qatar, and is registered as a professional body with the Qatar Financial Center.
