Telangana Welfare Association members have celebrated Dussehra for the second time in Qatar.
People from the community enjoyed the regional festival under the banner of the Telangana Welfare Association, affiliated to the Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) under the aegis of the Indian embassy in Qatar.
President Khaja Nizamuddin said this is their largest event held after easing of Covid-19 restrictions in Qatar. The occasion was celebrated with delicious meals while games were organised for children and adults at Al Dosari Zoo and Game Reserve.


The chief guest at the event was Ziad Usman, ICBF president, while the special guest was Kuljeet Singh Arora, Indian embassy second secretary - Information, Culture and Education.
The guests were K V Prasad, Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) Advisory Council chairperson; Krishna Kumar, ICC general secretary; Sabith Saheer, ICBF general secretary; Subramanya Hebbagelu, ICC vice-president; Kuldeep Kaur Bahl, ICBF treasurer; Rajani Murthy, ICBF head of medical camps; Dinesh Gowda ICBF head of insurance; Sameer Wani, ICBF head of sponsorships; Aneesh George Mathew, ICC head of sports; Siraj Ansari, QPL chairman; Sayeed APL director; Shobhan Goud, ICC Youth Wing MC member; and Shankar Goud TGQ president.
The chief guest felicitated newly elected Telugu community leaders in Qatar and presented prizes to the winners. They said it was the first time in Doha that such a large-scale Dussehra celebration had taken place.
Management Committee members of Telangana Welfare Association Qatar - Venkata Soujanya, Sravanti, Mohamed Rauf, Nagraju, Ghulam Rasool, Naveed, Shoaib, Ramesh Netaji, Shiva Krishna, Salahuddin, Ramesh Pitla, Krishna, Taha and Anees - were present on the occasion.
