His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani will participate on Monday in the 26th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26). The summit will be held in Glasgow, Scotland, with the participation of a number of heads of state and government. His Highness the Amir will be accompanied by an official delegation, reports Qatar News Agency (QNA).
Qatar will showcase its leading efforts to combat climate change and transition to clean energy during the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow, United Kingdom, the Government Communications Office (GCO) said on Sunday.
"Qatar is a global partner in creating environmental sustainability, and COP26 presents a key opportunity for renewed global climate collaboration," it stressed. "Qatar will showcase its efforts in developing technologies related to climate change and clean energy."
COP26 will contribute to the ambitions of the international community to mitigate the harsh impacts on all aspects of life for present and future generations, the GCO added.
