Qatar Cancer Society (QCS), in co-operation with Qatar Cyclists Centre, organised the 'Pink Ride' event with the aim of spreading awareness of breast cancer, the methods of prevention and early detection.
This came as part of the 'Blossom' campaign launched by the charity in October to raise awareness of this breast cancer, which is one of the most common types of cancer in Qatar and worldwide.

The event was held under the auspices of Mowasalat (Karwa) as an official sponsor and Floward as co-sponsor, and included a bicycle ride at Lusail and a series of awareness lectures and workshops supporting the awareness campaign.
Huda al-Yafei, director of the Programmes and Events Department at QCS, said: "It is beautiful to find such great support from all individuals and institutions operating in the country, which contributes significantly to increasing the charity's awareness and educational activities in the community, which raises awareness among citizens and residents of the disease."
She thanked all supporting parties for their active contribution to spreading awareness of the disease through this campaign, wishing all parties in the country to join hands together to fight cancer.
Fahad Saad al-Qahtani, CEO of Mowasalat (Karwa), said: "For us, CSR is not a particular programme. Our commitment to the community is reflected in what we say and do every day. Mowasalat commits to its responsibility and supports initiatives that directly and positively impact Qatar's society. Health is one of the foundation pillars of a happy people. We are glad that we can team up with the Qatar Cancer Society for its important initiative to educate women about breast cancer," he said.
Floward CEO Abdulaziz B al-Loughani added, "At Floward, we always work to offer our support to causes that matter to our communities, and health is at the core of these causes. Whenever we launch a campaign, we collaborate with entities who are specialists in the matter and offer our support in any way possible. That's why we collaborate with QCS, the leading cancer charity in Qatar, to help them raise awareness about early detection. We want to thank them for all the work they do and for giving us the opportunity to support such an important cause."
