Doha’s Charishma Arts felicitated Doha-born and raised, Kerala state award-winning playback singer Nithya Mammen. The forum's founder member and well-known movie and TV serial artiste Mohan Ayroor and Doha-based movie and stage actor K K Sudhakaran feted the artiste at her residence at Thiruvananthapuram recently.
Nithya had performed at a ghazal concert for Charishma’s ‘Ghazal Ravu’ in 2016. Nithya and her sister Nisha have participated in the forum’s various music programmes and dramas, it was recalled in a statement.
Charisma Arts, celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, has hosted over the years several celebrated actors, directors, composers and singers from the southern Indian state, such as Devarajan master, Bharath Gopi, Bahadoor, Adoor Gopalakrishnan, P Jayachandran, Shyamaprasad, Gireesh Puthencheri, Lohithadas. "This is the first-ever occasion that an artiste - Nithya - from our platform achieved a state government award back in India and we are really proud of it when we are celebrating the 30th anniversary," Ayroor said.
