Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al-Thani, who is chairman of Qatar Chamber and the International Chamber of Commerce Qatar (ICC Qatar), participated in a virtual meeting of the ICC Executive Board, which was held Monday.
The virtual meeting reviewed different issues related to global trade. Sheikh Khalifa is a board member of the ICC Executive Board, which consists of a number of business leaders and members who are elected by the ICC World Council.
The executive board is responsible for developing ICC’s strategies and policies, and for reviewing issues and activities related to global trade. Last year, Sheikh Khalifa was elected as board member of the ICC Executive Board during a meeting of the ICC World Council because of his experience in business and his leading role in the ICC.
Following the election, the ICC lauded the role played by Sheikh Khalifa in facilitating global trade and for launching the World Trade Agenda, which is a joint initiative between Qatar Chamber and ICC. ICC has also lauded Sheikh Khalifa’s “tireless efforts” in promoting open trade and investment.
