Kahramaa holds review meeting

The Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has held its managerial level review meeting for the third quarter of 2021. Kahramaa president Issa bin Hilal al-Kuwari chaired the meeting attended by the directors of affairs and departments, an official statement said.The meeting discussed the progress of work in various projects. The attendees also explained the successes achieved by Kahramaa for the third consecutive quarter. Al-Kuwari praised the efforts made by the departments while achieving tangible and actual progress in various projects.The president pointed out the importance of focusing on issues of sustainability and environmental protection in line with the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.During the third quarter of 2021, electricity transmission was disrupted only for a record 0.045 minutes. The biological water quality level reached 98.95% while exceeding the 95% specified by the World Health Organisation.The institutional sustainability index of Kahramaa also recorded a high rate of 106% in line with the corporation's plans for the three pillars of sustainability represented in the economy, environment and society. The Qatarisation rate has reached 37.80% with efforts to train, qualify and develop employees touching 163.50% of employees.The rate of total work accidents recorded for both Kahramaa and its contractors was only 0.04. The Kahramaa Awareness Park was visited by Qatar Museums chairperson HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad al-Thani. The park hosted more than 20 awareness visits for school students and other sectors.The National Programme for Conservation and Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed) organised many events aimed at promoting the culture of conservation in Qatar and urging the community to adopt more sustainable lifestyles.
