Various activities on Saturday marked the World Children's Day celebrations at Katara as the Cultural Village Foundation organised the Katara Children's Festival.
According to an official press statement from Katara, the festival included a variety of activities and events that targeted children from four to 14 years of age.
Katara made sure that the preventive measures in place to limit the spread of Covid-19 were followed during the activities, a press statement noted.







A large number of children attended the celebrations. Games, competitions, art workshops to teach children to do simple handicrafts, workshops to teach children quick cartoon drawing, Al Thuraya Planetarium shows, sleight of hand shows, roaming cartoon characters, a singing show, sand painting and colouring activities were held as part of the celebrations, the statement added.







The children and their parents who attended the celebrations praised the atmosphere and activities of the festival.
One of the parents, Adham Hassan, said he made sure that his children were present at the event as they were used to attending special events at Katara had missed them due to the Covid-19 pandemic. "The atmosphere is beautiful and full of joy," he added.





Another visitor, Enas, said: "It has great organisation and a beautiful ambiance. We really thank Katara for this wonderful festival and hope that there are similar events every once in a while.”
Other visitors also lauded the festival and its various activities.
The festival has resumed after being interrupted last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
