Qatar participated in the18th session of the GCC Joint Defence Council which was held at the GCC General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh Monday, QNA reported.
The Qatari delegation was headed by HE Adviser to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence and Security Affairs Major General (Pilot) Mohamed Abdullatif al-Mannai.
During the meeting, decisions and recommendations for the session's work programme were discussed. After the meeting, the Qatari delegation participated in the opening ceremony of the headquarters of the Unified Military Command, accompanied by heads of the participating delegations. The meeting and the opening of the headquarters were attended by Qatar's ambassador to Saudi Arabia Bandar bin Mohamed al-Attiyah, and a number of senior officers of the Qatari Armed Forces.
