The FIFA Arab Cup 2021 will take place in Qatar from November 30 to December 18, 2021. The tournament is being held a year before Qatar hosts the 2022 FIFA World Cup. It is the first pan-Arab tournament to be held under the FIFA umbrella.
PARTICIPATING TEAMS
23 NATIONAL TEAMS: from the Arab region were invited to participate in the FIFA Arab Cup 2021.
12 TEAMS: from the Asian Football Confederation: Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, UAE and Yemen.
11 TEAMS: from the Confederation of African Football: Algeria, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan and Tunisia.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
The competition began with pre-tournament qualification, which took place in Doha from June 19-25, 2021. Fourteen teams were drawn in seven single play-off matches, with Bahrain, Jordan, Lebanon, Mauritania, Oman, Palestine and Sudan booking their spots at the tournament.
The seven play-off winners joined hosts Qatar and the eight highest-ranked nations, who qualified directly thanks to their FIFA World Ranking from April 2021. They include Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia and the UAE.
16 PARTICIPATING TEAMS: were drawn into four groups of four teams each.
The group stage and knockout phase will consist of 32 matches played over 19 days from November 30 to December 18, 2021.
TOURNAMENT ORGANISERS
The delivery of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021 will be led by the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 LLC (Q22), with support from FIFA, the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), the Qatar Football Association (QFA) and the Qatar Stars League (QSL). It is seen as a vital opportunity to test operations and facilities ahead of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which will be held from 21 November to 18 December 2022. The finals of both the FIFA Arab Cup and FIFA World Cup will take place exactly one year apart – each on 18 December, Qatar National Day, which is a public holiday.
DRAW
The draw for the FIFA Arab Cup 2021 took place at Katara Opera House in Doha, Qatar, on April 27, 2021.
TICKETS:
Tickets for the FIFA Arab Cup 2021 are available for purchase until the end of the tournament on a first-come, first-served basis at FIFA.com/tickets.
Currently, tickets can be purchased for all 32 matches, including the curtain-raisers on 30 November at Al Bayt Stadium (hosts Qatar vs Bahrain) and Stadium 974 (UAE vs Syria). A selection of affordable tickets is available, with category 4 tickets costing QR25 (Qatar residents only) for all matches, except the semi-finals and final. Tickets can also be purchased over the counter at the FIFA Venue Ticketing Centre located at the Doha Exhibition Center (Al Qassar Metro Station) and various ticketing counters across Qatar. Visa, FIFA’s Official Payment Services Partner, is the preferred payment method for fan ticket purchases for the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021.
HAY’YA CARD (FAN ID)
Every ticket holder must apply for the mandatory Hay’ya Card (Fan ID).
After buying a ticket, fans should apply for a Hay’ya Card via fac21.qa.
One Hay’ya Card will last each fan for the entire tournament.
