Qatar Postal Services Company (Qatar Post) launched Monday the official stamp for the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021.
This comes as part of an agreement between Qatar Post and the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), under which Qatar Post is designated as the official licensee for commemorative stamps for the tournament.
The official stamp was revealed at a special ceremony at Arab Postal Stamp Museum hall in Katara – The Cultural Village.
The FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021, which begins today, will run until December 18, featuring 16 teams from the region.
The 3rd edition of the official stamp under the licence agreement between FIFA and Qatar Post is dedicated to the FIFA Arab Cup and inspired by the colours of the flags of participating Arab nations and a football field, reflecting the vibrancy and exuberance of the event.
A total of 10,000 copies, 2,000 first-day covers, 2,000 postcards and 1,000 folders have been printed and will be available for purchase, from QR 8.50, at Qatar Post branches and its website.
This follows the release of two previous editions by Qatar Post for the FIFA World Cup, launched in co-operation with FIFA and the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, and falls within Qatar Post’s mandate to document all events, celebrations and preparations managed by Qatar in hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Qatar Post confirmed that football fans from around the world, stamp collectors, and Qatar residents will have the opportunity to purchase the stamps as mementos of this iconic tournament.
Qatar Post will continue to design stamps in commemoration of every stage of preparations for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which simultaneously highlight the rich legacy and history of the country in the field of football.
Only a few months ago, Qatar Post launched the first and second edition of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 official stamp with its distinctive design, taking the form of Qatar’s map and bearing the official logo of the tournament.
In parallel, Qatar Post has launched a set of stamps to document the inauguration of the Doha Metro: a mega-project that adopts the latest sustainable practices and advanced transportation solutions in the world and will serve the Qatari community and the FIFA Arab Cup 2021 and FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 fans.
