Qatar Charity celebrates FIFA Arab Cup 2021

Qatar Charity (QC)'s FIFA Arab Cup 2021 events continue at Katara - the Cultural Village. The event, scheduled to continue until December 18, is witnessing a large turnout of people from different nationalities. The event is also coinciding with the Qatar National Day celebrations in an effort to offer educational and sports activities catering to younger generations, and cement values of loyalty to the homeland, QC has said in a statement. In addition, it is aimed at fostering humanitarian and philanthropy values, highlighting Qatar Charity’s role in serving the local community and the people of the world.The events include sports and recreational activities, theatrical performances and cultural competitions.Cultural activities include the “memory challenge”, which is a competition of inverted images for a group of relief needs. In addition, Qatar Charity is organising a “Qatar stadiums” competition between two teams to combine the name of the stadium with its image. There are also the "word-composition" competition for parents; “balloons and papers” quizzes about QC and “Postman”, which is a set of postcards including sports-related and historical questions.The event also offers a "Metro" map, representing Qatar’s map divided into six stations. Each one includes a set of cards in the shape of the Metro containing several landmarks, sports facilities and cultural stations.The Qatar Charity pavilion includes an exhibition that reflects QC's expansive interventions in 50 countries around the world and the impact of its projects on the lives of beneficiaries. Fatima al-Mohannadi, director of the Local Programmes and Community Development Department at QC, said: "The events aim to celebrate Doha's hosting of the Arab Cup, which reflects the great efforts made by Qatar in establishing an integrated sports infrastructure and hosting continental championships. This success will lead to the hosting of the World Cup by the end of next year."She added that QC's participation on the events aims to highlight its achievements and successes in Qatar and abroad with the contribution of donors and volunteers from the people of Qatar through its projects in various fields.Al-Mohannadi urged the public to participate in these events to be acquainted with the values of humanitarian work and its impact on the lives of beneficiaries.
