More than 400 electrical engineers took part in the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines (IIEE), Qatar Chapter’s '16th Annual Conference, Technical Seminar and General Membership Meeting', held in a hybrid format recently.
The conference was attended by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) - Board of Electrical Engineering chairman Francis V Mapile, PRC - Board of Electrical Engineering member Jaime V Mendoza, IIEE national president Allan Anthony P Alvarez, IIEE Foreign region governor Orlando T Villapana Jr, and IIEE Middle East Region founding governor Robert U Mabulay.
A special message was conveyed by Philippine ambassador Alan L Timbayan, expressing the Philippine embassy’s appreciation to the projects and undertakings of the Chapter not only for the benefit of Filipino electrical engineering practitioners in Qatar but for the whole Filipino community as well.
The event, led by the Chapter’s incumbent president, Rudilyn S Reyes and the overall chairman, Lauren M Olivos (VP-Internal Affairs), attracted hundreds of participants among electrical engineers in Qatar, Middle East region, and Philippines, including electrical engineering students from various universities.
There were four technical seminar topics shared by Leo S Cabasag, former IIEE national president; Roderick R Pajes, chapter auditor; Kensley Armon F Manese, 2021 IECEP-Q governor; and Sonny T Calma, 2021 PSME chairman.
The event was in line with IIEE’s 2021 theme “Got-1-IEEE, Transcending the Challenges in the New Normal by Embracing Resiliency and Complementarity” by conducting hybrid conferences and seminars for continuous knowledge and skills acquisition during the Covid-19 pandemic.
