Qatar University (QU) has won bronze award for Empower Generation Consortium Project for the discipline of Life Sciences at QS-Reimagine at QS- Reimagine Education conference in London, UK.
Reimagine celebrates and reward the most successful educational and innovative projects that enhance the learning outcomes and employability.
The CEO of QS-Reimagine, Nunzio Quacquarelli indicated in his speech at the conference that there were over than 1,350 applicants who submitted their projects for QS-Reimagine Award, with over 300 independent judges participating in the evaluation process, plus a distinguished 20 person Grand Jury. The winners have received the unequivocal backing of expert educationalists across the world.
Prof Asmaa al-Thani, vice-president for Medical and Health Sciences at QU and the founder of EGC project said: “Achieving a national base of human resources in healthcare and life sciences is one core scope of the human development pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030. It’s a priority for us that we kept working diligently to accomplish”.
The dean of the College of Health Sciences, Dr Hanan Abdul Rahim remarked: “The Empower Generation Consortium offers a great opportunity for the high school Qatari students to learn the aspects of healthcare careers, apply their innovative ideas, and integrate in meaningful externships. The project has greatly contributed to enhancing Qatari admission to QU-Health various healthcare majors”.
The project functions along the line of Qatar National Vision 2030, and the directions of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.
