The message was conveyed by HE Permanent Representative of Qatar to the UN Ambassador Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif al-Thani.In the letter, the UN Secretary-General congratulated Qatar, the government and people, on the anniversary of its accession to the international organisation. "Qatar will continue this role in support of the tasks of the United Nations in the field of preventive diplomacy, building stability, and maintaining international peace and security. Qatar will also continue its support for the UN institutions, specialised agencies and funds concerned with peacekeeping, development, promotion of human rights and combating terrorism. Qatar supports the UN Sustainable Development Agenda 2030, especially by providing development aid to more than 80 countries, supporting education in developing countries, and addressing poverty and unemployment among young people."
