Qatar-based Nepalese expatriate forum Nawalparasi Welfare Society (NWS) conducted its convention and second general assembly meeting to elect the new working committee and to decide their future plans.
The convention was chaired by outgoing president Sajhan Laudaray. The chief guest was Raj Regmi, Gulf youth co-ordinator of Non-Resident Nepalese Association (NRNA).
New president Krishna Panti spoke about the activities carried out by the organisation during the past two years. Regmi lauded NWS for its social initiatives and thanked its support for the welfare of the Nepalese community.
Other office-bearers of the new commitee are: Amit Barali (first vice-chairman), Suraj Kuwar (second vice-president), Sandhya Aryal (female vice-president), Durga Hamal (general secretary), Basudev Pandey (secretary), Nar Bahadur Thapa (treasurer) and Ramji Subedi (co-treasurer).
