* Children's Library remains closed

Due to the recent surge of Covid-19 cases, Qatar National Library (QNL) has announced that it requires all visitors to be vaccinated and book an appointment to visit the library until further notice. Also, the Children's Library will remain closed until further notice, QNL has said on social media. One has to visit this link to book an appointment.
"Due to the current Covid-19 situation and for everyone’s safety, the library visit will be by appointment only," the library's website states. Moreover, visitors will be allowed into the building only if they fulfil the following conditions:
* Have a confirmation of their slot booking through the form available on this webpage.
* Are fully vaccinated
* Have the green status on the Ehteraz app
* Wear a face mask at all times
QNL has also explained the precautionary measures in place. Only visitors with a booking will be allowed in the building during each time slot (10am to 12.30pm and 1pm to 4pm), Saturday to Thursday. The library is closed on Fridays. The Children's Library is also closed until further notice, but visiting adults can still borrow books for their children directly from the Children's Library during their visit.
"Please follow the social distancing rules everywhere in the library and stand only on designated stickers whenever queuing," the website states.
Social gatherings are strictly prohibited in the library and will be monitored by the security personnel. All reading carrels may be used on a first-come, first-use basis, with only one user inside each carrel. The bookshelves are open for the public."You are free to browse and borrow books on your own using our self-checkout stations."
Heritage Library materials are accessible primarily by requesting a digital copy via this e-mail ([email protected]). "If the requested item has not yet been digitised, we will let you know when it is available. The Heritage Reading Room/area is also available to users for selected heritage and reference materials (requests are processed on a case-by-case basis; please write to [email protected] with your request)," the website adds.
Academic or professional researchers are requested to complete a form.
