The Shura Council's Special Committee for studying "Aspects Associated with Marriage" held a meeting on Sunday, headed by HE Chairman of the Committee Ali bin Shabib al-Attiyah, in the presence of HE Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council Dr Hamda bint Hassan al-Sulaiti, QNA reported. During the meeting, the committee reviewed a number of negative aspects and behaviours associated with marriage, which constitute a burden on the family and impede young people from marrying. HE al-Attiyah, stressed the importance of curbing the behaviours and the need to find mechanisms to address the issue and to limit its effects on families and the society. The committee will continue to study this issue by holding its meetings and working in co-ordination with a number of government agencies and civil society institutions.
