Doha Toastmasters Club, the first Toastmasters club in Qatar, recently celebrated its 25th anniversary in a hybrid meeting attended by members and leaders of District 116, abiding by the Covid-19 protocol.

The 'Jubilee Jamboree' was virtually attended by Toastmasters international president Margaret Page. She congratulated the club members on the25th anniversary and for retaining President's Distinguished status throughout. The meeting was called to order by sergeant at arms Kesavraj Sampathkumar. Doha Toastmasters Club president Atul Hardas congratulated all the leaders and members and reminisced all the visionary leaders who dedicated their services for making the club stronger over 25 years. Event Committee chair Girish Jain recalled the founding of the club in 1996. Master of ceremonies Sunil Kumar Menon made the celebration memorable with the 'Jubilee Jamboree' theme. Founder member Sonny Varghese spoke about the history of Doha Toastmasters Club and District director Manzoor Moideen congratulated the members and wished more success in the years ahead.Niloufer Samal encouraged leaders to share their journey in Toastmasters. Rajeswar Sundaresan, Ram Mohan Rai, Anil Nair, Abdul Nasser and Rajshekhar Kalyanshetty shared their beautiful memories with the club. Newsletter Eloquence was released by Akash Bhutada and Ian Dmello. Jayakumar Menon conducted a quiz session. Humorous skit on “Fun with Dr Charlie” was presented by Girish Jain and club members. Shashant presented his speech which was evaluated by Adam Abdi. Toastmasters' Vaishali Mehra conducted the awards session in which all the past presidents, leaders and members of the club were recognised for their services. Vice president (education) Sundar Vadivelu proposed a vote of thanks. Milton Swaminathan was the timer and Amarnath Baburajan handled the technical responsibilities.
