Innovation Cafe has recently been organising a series of workshops with the help of sponsors, and one of the most recent of these was held under the title 'Behind the Scenes of Developers and Visionaries'. The online workshop was once again sponsored by Microsoft Qatar, and took place at Innovation Cafe on January 25 evening.
"When it comes to business and the marketplace, establishing and building your professional brand using different strategies and campaigns is crucial to create a thriving and lasting image. Of course, this can only be achieved with the right knowledge in technology. Technology is essential for businesses as not only does it help with reducing costs to allow your business to grow, but it’s also efficient for the process of maintaining company data and employee records, as well as help the systems, services and products reach a higher level of progress," a press statement noted.
Jamal Bdeir, Small and Medium Business lead – Middle East Cluster, talked about Microsoft Qatar's mission of empowering people and organisations, and about their partnership with Innovation Cafe, stating: "Our investment in Qatar’s startup ecosystem is in line with our global mission to empower people and organisations to achieve more. With initiatives like Microsoft Founders Hub and through strategic partnerships such as the one with Innovation Cafe, we are committed to equip home-grown entrepreneurs with access to technology, funding and our global unmatched partner and customer network, to enable them to innovate, go-to-market quickly, and grow at scale".
The workshop introduced four main topics following a 15-minute introduction by Ramzan al-Nuaimi, founder of Innovation Cafe .
The first topic addressed 'Building a professional brand for SMEs online', and was introduced by Nagham el Hasbany, managing director of Be Creative Agency. Hasbany said "the way people perceive your brand impacts your company value", which sheds light on how to build a proper and professional brand online for small- and medium-sized enterprises.
The second topic, 'Securing data from internal/external threats', was introduced by Amr El Saher, technical solution professional from Microsoft, who showed the attendees how to safeguard their businesses from cyber attacks and protect their data from any kind of threat, whether it was internal or external.
The third topic introduced 'Building a digital sales channel within minutes', and was presented by Humza Abed Khan, chief growth officer at Snoonu app, who had a few words of advice to share with the participants as well. "Three top advices for early-stage entrepreneurs: go for solving a problem that you are deeply passionate about, build the right team from Day 1, and as leaders/founders, establish the right culture," Khan said. "If you manage to do all these successfully, then you definitely will make it big."
With his inspiring words, he helped the participants learn about E-commerce and how to build a digital sales channel in easy and clear steps.
The fourth and final topic focused on 'Achieving Cost Savings Through Cloud Computing', and was also presented by El Saher, who helped the attendees understand how to save costs and expenses through cloud computing, which is the delivery of computing services like servers, storage, databases, networking, software etc, over the cloud, in order to obtain faster innovation, flexible resources and economies of scale.
Each one of the speakers presented their topic for 30 minutes. Many were invited to attend the workshop free of charge, such as small- and medium- sized enterprises, businesses, retailers, hospitality personnel and traders, and it was broadcast live on social media.
