27 artists compete in Katara Horse Drawing Competition

The second edition of the Katara International Arabian Horse Festival (KIAHF 2022) is hosting the Katara Horse Drawing Competition. About 27 fine artists - from citizens to residents - are participating in the event, where they compete to present their artistic impressions to express various images of the Arabian horse, all taken earlier in the festival.

The competition gives each artist the freedom to choose their own style of inspiration for their painting, either through his artistic vision, his creative style or the different types of colours he chooses, such as oil colour, water colour, acrylic, pastel, lead or charcoal, with the aim of igniting a spirit of competition between the participating artists.The Katara Horse Drawing competition will continue until the conclusion of the second edition of the Katara International Arabian Horse Festival on February 12, 2022.The size of each painting must be (80*80 cm) at least. It also required that the participant be 18 years or above.The artworks presented at the end of the competition will be subject to judging by a special committee of artists and critics in order to select the winning three paintings.The first place winner will receive QR30,000; second place, QR20,000; and third place, QR10,000.The second edition of the Katara International Arabian Horse Festival continues its activities and events, as tomorrow will be set for auction.The entry of horses will start at 9am until 12pm, while horse inspection will extend from midday until 4pm in order to receive bid numbers and insurance amount payable from 3pm.The auction will start at 6pm.
