The Diplomatic Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Georgetown University in Qatar have signed an agreement to offer and implement the Executive Master's Programme in Diplomacy and International Relations.
The agreement was signed by HE the Director of the Diplomatic Institute, Dr Abdulaziz bin Mohamed al-Horr, and Dean of Georgetown University Dr Clyde Wilcox.
HE Dr al-Horr explained that the programme is open to Qatari diplomats, candidates from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Qatari officials involved in foreign policy nominated by their ministries, and practitioners of diplomatic work from the Middle East region nominated by the governments of their countries.
For his part, Dr Wilcox explained that the programme's courses are multidisciplinary and focus on the major challenges in international politics and the global economy facing diplomats.
The programme extends for one year and consists of nine units of study, each consisting of two intensive courses, in addition to one visit to the American capital, Washington, as a final semester.
Courses will be offered in the halls of Georgetown University in Qatar campus and will be conducted by faculty affiliated with the university's main campus in Washington, as well as faculty members affiliated with the university in Doha.(QNA)
