Qatar, Tanzania discuss manpower utilisation

The Qatari-Tanzanian Joint Technical Commission held its second meeting to discuss co-operation in manpower on the basis of the labour agreement signed between the two countries.The Qatari side was headed by Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Affairs Mohamed Hassan al-Obaidli while the Tanzanian side was headed by Secretary-General of the Ministry of Labour in the Prime Minister's Office Jamal Adam.They discussed, during the meeting, facilitating procedures for bringing in domestic workers to Qatar, co-ordinating between the recruitment offices approved in the two countries as well as promoting and developing procedures for bringing in technical and specialised Tanzanian workers.During the visit, the Qatari delegation, which included officials from the ministries of labour and interior, met with Tanzanian Minister of State for Labour, Youth and Disabled Affairs and with representatives of recruitment offices in Tanzania and Zanzibar.Meanwhile, Tanzanian officials praised the great development that Qatar has witnessed in all fields, and the new labour laws and reforms that reflect Qatar's keenness on the rights of workers of all categories, stressing that they contribute to preserving the rights of all parties and enhance confidence in the work climate in Qatar.
