* Qatar-Algeria ties set to reach new heights
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani led well-wishers to welcome Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune upon his arrival at Doha International Airport Saturday on a state visit to the country. President Tebboun is accompanied by an official delegation. His Highness the Personal Representative of the Amir Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani was also present to welcome the president of Algeria. Also present were an number of Sheikhs and ministers, Qatar's Ambassador to Algeria Abdulaziz bin Ali al-Naema and Algerian Ambassador Dr Mustafa Boutoura. The state visit of President Tebboune comes within the framework of the distinguished historical relations between the two countries and the joint and continuous keenness to support and advance them towards deeper and more comprehensive horizons, in a manner that serves the common interests, goals and aspirations of the two countries and their peoples, the Qatar News Agency reports.The Amir will receive at the Amiri Diwan Sunday the President of Algeria to discuss bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to support and enhance them, in addition to the latest regional and international developments of common concern.The talks that will take place during the visit will contribute to the development of relations between Doha and Algiers in various fields, and to supporting the Arab and international issues about which the two countries share common visions.HE the Algerian President's visit is also gaining an exceptional dimension in term of its timing, as it comes before the Arab Summit that will be hosted by Algeria. The visit also coincides with the 6th summit of the heads of member states of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) that will be held in Doha this week, given that the two countries are among the largest producers and exporters of natural gas in the world.
