Qatar’s IMUVI up 1.05% quarter-on-quarter in Q4, 2021

Qatar’s Import Unit Value Index (IMVUI) increased by 1.05% quarter-on-quarter during the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2021, even as it was down 0.03% on a yearly basis, according to the Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA).
IMUVI contains ten main groups classified on the basis of the Standard International Trade Classification (SITC). On a yearly basis, the IMUVI of mineral fuels, lubricants and related products surged 4.02%, machinery and transport equipment by 2.18%, beverages and tobacco by 1.93%, miscellaneous manufactured products by 1.31% and manufactured products by 0.35%.Nevertheless, the IMUVI of crude materials, inedible (except fuels) shrank 2.51%, food and live animals by 0.81% and chemicals and related products by 0.52%.On a yearly basis, the IMUVI of commodities not classified elsewhere in SITC plummeted 3.83% during Q4, 2021, food and live animals 3.73%, manufactured products 3.34%, crude materials 2.12%, chemicals and related products 1.24%, animal and vegetable oils, fats and waxes 1% and miscellaneous manufactured articles 0.42%.However, there was a 2.41% increase in the IMUVI of machinery and transport equipment, 2.22% in mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials and 0.3% in beverages and tobacco.
