The 10th edition of Halal Qatar Festival, which started on Monday at the Southern area of Katara - The Cultural Village, will continue until Saturday with three main categories of competitions of the most beautiful sheep and goats.
Katara general manager Prof Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti explained that the event contributes towards reviving the heritage and traditions of the ancestors. It also opens wider horizons for the owners and keepers of the herds to further improve the quality of their livestock, which will in turn enhance business and support the growth of animal wealth in the country.
Salman al-Nuaimi, head of the organising committee of the festival, pointed out that the event is considered an active platform to exchange ideas, advice and expertise in the field among the stakeholders. He also noted that the festival will see participation from other GCC countries.
