The State of Qatar, represented by the General Retirement and Social Insurance Authority, is participating in Virtual Social Security Forum for Asia and the Pacific, currently held via videoconferencing.

The agenda of the forum, organized by the International Social Security Association (ISSA), includes challenges facing social security in Asia and the Pacific, the issue of innovation for stronger security management, and strategies to address needs.

The General Retirement and Social Insurance Authority, represented by Director of Planning and Quality Department at the Authority Moza Mohamed Al Sulaiti, presented the most important developments in the digital transformation undertaken by the Authority to meet the needs, the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, and the challenges faced by the Authority in providing services to beneficiaries.

During the presentation, the Authority affirmed the success of its remote work experience, and its digital ability, after the coronavirus pandemic accelerated the digital transformation from what was planned to be accomplished by the end of 2022 (the end of the five-year strategy), to be 100 percent completed during 2021 instead of 2022.

The forum is considered the most important social security event, as representatives of regional and international organizations will discuss key priorities, innovative solutions and strategic directions for social security in Asia and the Pacific.
