Souq Waqif Falcon Hospital, which functions under the Private Engineering Office, has inaugurated a new building for Al Khor Falcon Clinic.
One of the most modern centres for treatment and surgery of falcons, the clinic would especially benefit falcon owners at Al Khor and Al Shamal, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported Wednesday.

"At the clinic reception, every registered falcon will have its own veterinary file, with the related health information and the number of its chip, type, weight, details of checkups and examinations and the apparent symptoms in addition to the required examinations," Dr al-Karkhi explained.
From the reception, each bird will be referred to the examination section for further procedures. The clinic has a dedicated section for laboratories and PCR tests in addition to a veterinary pharmacy, where all the required vaccines are available.
The clinic also issues and accredits health certificates, prints the identification bands and other accessories for falcons, and embed electronic chips.

"With the opening of Al Khor Falcon Clinic, falcon owners at Al Shamal and Al Khor would not have to go to Souq Waqif Falcon Hospital in Doha, especially for the emergency cases," the official said.
The new facility is capable of receiving 100 birds a day and treat more than 10,000 birds a year, Dr al-Karkhi added.
