The Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants Doha LLC(G) (PICPA Doha) conducted a baking session 101 recently in line with this fiscal year’s plan to strengthen its social engagement within its community.
The activity, in partnership with Chef Gerardo B Atencio of The Cooking Academy Qatar and founder of MAGsarangkay Association (MAGA), an organisation which aims to assist Filipinos to be financially sustainable through livelihood skills and sports, aims to provide an avenue for physical and mental wellness among PICPA Doha members. It also gives an opportunity for the members to unwind, learn, and enhance new skills.
Throughout the programme, chef Atencio was very keen and patient in teaching the participants the basics of baking wherein he presented and discussed all the essential baking ingredients, including its functions and proper mixing.
He also shared some tips and techniques as well as the dos and don’ts when baking, including usage of different types of ovens. As it turned out, all the participants’ masterpieces looked and tasted as if they had been baked by a professional baker.
Among the breads baked by the participants were plain pandesal, pandesal with cheese, cinnamon roll, ensaymada, brioche, and French bread.
PICPA Doha LLC(G)’s members and associates comprise a diverse mix of finance professionals with a myriad of work experiences from different industry groups.
