Asian Premier League (APL) organised the 5th season of Cricket Champions Trophy recently. The finals, played at the College of North Atlantic - Qatar grounds on February 18, between Doha Risers CC (DRCC) and KRCC, was won by the latter by three runs.
Adil Mohamed was the man of the match for the finals. The best batsman and best player of the tournament was awarded to Harsha Dilanga of XI Brothers and best bowler award to Bijay Yadav of Doha Risers.
The chief guest for the finals was Abdulrahman E P, founder and chairman, Care ‘n’ Cure group. The guest of honour was Vinod Nair, CFO, Gulf Drilling Company and vice president of Indian Community Benevolent Forum.
The special guests were Dr Nadeem Zafar Jilani, president, AMU Alumni Association Qatar; Safeer Rahman, head of activities, Indian Sports Centre; Nihad Ali, general secretary, QIA & Kerala Business Forum, and Khaja Nizamuddin, president, TWA, Qatar.
Mohamed Sayeed, president, APL, applauded all the participating teams. Board Members Jawed Ahmad, Mohamed Musthafa, Lutfi Kakar and Ghulam Rasool also graced the occasion.
APL managing committee members Mujtaba Hussain, Mohamed Ali, Rashed, Imran Shareef, Shafait Nader, Saif Ali, and Shabbir Ahmed were the organisers.
