The Ministry of Education and Higher Education, represented by the Scientific Research Section of the Curriculum and Learning Resources Department, in co-operation with Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) at Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, has announced a list of schools nominated to represent Qatar in regional and international competitions in scientific research and innovation, in the US, Malaysia and Kuwait.
The ministry, said in a statement, that most of the schools nominated for these competitions were selected from among winners of the first three places in the National Scientific Research and Innovation Competition that was held from February 1-4, 2021, in nine categories that included all scientific and social fields.
It pointed out 52 male and female students from 22 middle and high schools took the exams.
They submitted 26 research projects, of which the best six by 12 male and female students were selected to participate in the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in the US on May 4-5, 2022.
The ministry noted that seven projects from 14 students were selected to represent Qatar at the International Invention, Innovation and Technology Exhibition (ITEX) in Malaysia on May 26-27, 2022, as well as two projects for four female students from two girls schools, one of them is preparatory and the other is secondary, for Sheikha Fadia al-Saad al-Abdullah al-Sabah's scientific competition (FSSG) in Kuwait in June 2022.
