Alpha_FC representing Qatar Red Crescent won the UNIQ Sports Fiesta Football Championship 2021_22 defeating #Medicos_FC. The sevens tournament was held for Indian nurses in Qatar. A total of 120 nurses in eight teams from various healthcare institutions participated.
Nizar Kamassery was player of the tournament and Shafeer the best goal keeper.
Indian ambassador Dr Deepak Mittal presented the trophy and cash prize to the champions and Lusail Football Club president Nawaf al-Mudaka, handed over the runner's trophy and cash prize.
Hamad Medical Corporation Ambulance Department and Qatar Vaccination Center operations manager Latheef Chyappery was honoured by the ambassador at the ceremony for services rendered during the pandemic.
Indian embassy defence attache Captain Mohan Atla, Indian Sports Centre (ISC) president Dr Mohan Thomas, Indian Business and Professionals Council president Jaffar U Sadik, Indian Cultural Centre president P N Baburajan and various apex body representatives under the embassy and other community leaders honoured the winners.
UNIQ patron Nawfal N M, general secretary Sabid Pambadi, Indian Community Benevolent Forum president Ziad Usman, secretary Sabith Saheer, ISC vice president Sheji Valiyakath, and Dr Anwar Muhmed and Dr Fuad from Indian Doctors' Club attended the inaugural session. The closing ceremony was presided over by UNIQ president Mini Siby.
A large number of families participated in the entertainment and fun games organised for families and children and which were co-ordinated by UNIQ executive members Bindu, Jancy and Sajeer. Sports wing lead Nizar Cheruvath thanked all stakeholders.
