Qatar University (QU) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with talabat, the region’s leading food delivery and q-commerce app.
The purpose of this MoU is to establish a co-operation framework between QU (with a focus on its College of Arts & Science and College of Business & Economics) and talabat.
The MoU was signed by Dr Eiman Mustafawi, vice-president for Student Affairs at QU, and Francisco De Sousa, managing director at talabat Qatar.
The MoU provides a framework for undertaking initiatives that explore internships and employment opportunities for QU students and alumni. talabat will accommodate students of QU (with a focus on students of College of Arts & Science and College of Business & Economics) with requests that pertain to their study, research programmes, thesis, dissertation and course projects.
Commenting on the MoU, Dr Mustafawi said, “The arrangement will provide QU students with the opportunity to intern with talabat, and it is in keeping with QU's objective to provide new opportunities for its students to interact, learn, and grow. As talabat is an international organisation, QU students will take advantage of this chance, which will lead to job opportunities. We are happy to join our hands with talabat as it is a vibrant and
creative company that will allow our students and young entrepreneurs to express their creativity, obtain real-world experience and operate in an innovative manner.”
De Sousa added, “We are thrilled to partner with Qatar University to provide internship and employment opportunities for their students. We look forward to collaborating with them during their internships, as part of our ongoing efforts to nurture, support and provide opportunities to the youth in Qatar.”
