Fans who have been allocated FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tickets, based on their applications submitted during Sales Phase 1, have to pay for their tickets by 1pm Doha time on March 21.
Results of the random selection draw for Sales Phase 1 are now available, with FIFA notifying applicants about the outcome of their applications by email. The status of ticket applications can also be checked on the FIFA website.
Fans across the globe showed their enthusiasm ahead of football’s biggest celebration as 17mn ticket requests were received in the first sales period of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which lasted just 20 days. The largest number of applicants came from the host country.
During the opening random selection draw sales period, FIFA was also inundated by applications from football hotbeds and key markets, such as Argentina, Brazil, England, France, India, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and the US.
The most sought-after tickets were for the final on December 18 at Lusail Stadium, with 1.8mn requests made for that match alone.
"The random selection draw sales period of Sales Phase 1 for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 generated huge demand around the world. Fans who have been allocated tickets based on the ticket applications submitted during this sales period and want to secure their seats to avoid missing out on a once-in-a-lifetime experience must pay for their tickets as early as possible, from 11:00 CET/13:00 Doha time on 8 March and by no later than 11:00 CET/13:00 Doha time on 21 March," FIFA said on its website.
After this, no further payments will be accepted and ticket applications for which full payment has not been received will be cancelled in their entirety.
It is not possible to apply for tickets during this period, FIFA clarified, and fans can only pay for the tickets allocated to them in relation to successful or partially successful ticket applications submitted during the random selection draw sales period that finished on February 8.
FIFA stressed that it is the responsibility of ticket applicants to check the details and status of their ticket applications by accessing their FIFA ticketing account.
Visa payment cards are the exclusive payment method accepted for residents of Qatar.
Successful ticket applicants have been reminded that at the request of the Qatari authorities, all local and international fans attending FIFA World Cup 2022 matches will need to obtain a Hayya Card. All international fans must also confirm their accommodation plans after purchasing their tickets in order to enter Qatar and access the stadiums. This will be available after March 21, 2022.
