Haas F1 team lineup for 2022 is confirmed with Kevin Magnussen partnering with Mick Schumacher as he signs a multi-year deal with the team. With the departure of Nikita Mazepin from the team after losing his seat, many names seemed to be in the mix for the second Haas seat including Antonio Giovinazzi and Nico Hulkenberg. But after Danish journalist, Jonas Hüttel reported that Kevin Magnussen was Haas’ preference to fill the seat, the issue of his Peugeot Le Mans contract seemed to be the only problem.

Magnussen drove for three teams full time in Formula One including Mclaren from 2014-15, Renault in 2016 and Haas from 2017-20. In 2018, Magnussen along with Romain Grosjean pushed Haas to an impressive fifth place in the constructors’ championship. However, after a tough few years with the team and finishing with a single point at the end of 2020, the Danish driver parted ways with the American team to partake in other motorsport categories such as IndyCar and the IMSA SportsCar Championship where he even won a race.

Having worked with the team before, combined with his experience not only in Formula 1 but other motorsport categories, he proved to be an appealing candidate and with his multi-year deal, he is to make a sensational comeback to the pinnacle of motorsport.
