Qatari farm products such as vegetables, meat, poultry, dairy, honey and dates have won the praise of diplomats who visited the 6th edition of Mahaseel Festival at Katara Cultural Village.
The festival runs until Saturday, March12. The Mahaseel market will then continue on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays until May.
A number of ambassadors from embassies and diplomatic missions in Qatar praised the quality and diversity of national products, in addition to their competitive prices.
The owners of the participating farms said that the festival offers fresh products at reasonable prices, and it represents a step in support of the Qatari agricultural and food product, calling on the public to visit the festival and support the Qatari products, which are grown 100% on natural fertilisers, which makes them of high quality.
Many visitors to the festival also praised the quality and types of dates that are famous for Qatar's farms, noting that Qatari dates are distinguished by their sweet taste and different varieties.
Some 38 companies specialised in the food industry and agricultural production are participating in the festival, including 25 local farms and 7 national companies specialised in poultry, meat and dairy, and 7 nurseries, in addition to 6 pergolas for the sale of popular foods, all of which display a distinguished bouquet of its finest agricultural products of fresh vegetables.
The products are being supervised by the Ministry of Municipality to ensure that they are free of chemical fertilisers. This makes the festival an ideal platform for displaying national products, supporting efforts to achieve food security and self-sufficiency, and strengthening the national economy. (QNA)
