HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani met on Monday in Moscow with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, QNA reported. The meeting discussed the latest developments in the Russia-Ukraine crisis, besides exchanging views on several regional matters and issues of common interest. HE Sheikh Mohamed renewed Qatar's call to all parties to exercise restraint and resolve the dispute through constructive dialogue and diplomatic methods, and the settlement of international disputes by peaceful means, and to prevent further escalation.
He underlined the need to ensure the safety of civilians as a top priority.
Also, the foreign minister stressed Qatar's position and its keenness on the UN Charter and the well-established principles of international law, including obligations under the Charter to settle international disputes by peaceful means, refrain from the threat or use of force, adhere to sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of states, and to reject and condemn all that is contrary to it.
