The Shura Council held on Monday its weekly meeting, under the chairpersonship of its Speaker HE Hassan bin Abdullah al-Ghanim, QNA reported.
At the outset of the session, HE the Secretary-General of the Shura Council Dr Ahmed bin Nasser al-Fadhala read out the agenda of the session. The minutes of the previous session were ratified.
During the session, the Council reviewed a report presented by HE Member of the Shura Council Mohamed bin Mahdi al-Ahbabi, pertaining to his visit to Ukraine from Feb 6-8 within the delegation of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, as Chairperson of the Permanent Committee on Peace and International Security of the Union.
The Council also reviewed a report on its participation in the third meeting of the second session of the third legislative term of the Arab Parliament, and the meetings of the permanent committees of the Parliament, which were held in Cairo from Feb 20-23.
The Council commended the important role played by the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the Permanent Committee on Peace and International Security within their endeavours to achieve international peace and security, and hailed the delegation's participation in the Arab Parliament session and other associated meetings.
