With just days to go for the seventh Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (Dimdex 2022), Dukhan Bank, Silver Sponsor of the upcoming edition, is gearing up to contribute to the joint effort in making the event a "monumental success". Hosted and organised by the Qatar Armed Forces, the biennial event will take place between March 21 and 23 under the theme ‘Connecting the World’s Maritime Defence and Security Community.’
Besides offering a global platform for exhibitors and a plethora of collaboration opportunities for international and local companies, Dimdex 2022 will also bring together high-ranking military officials, industry leaders, thought leaders as well as other doyens of the maritime defence and security industry for three action-packed days featuring commercial partnerships as well as knowledge exchange at the highest levels between industry and government, a press statement notes.Staff Brigadier (Sea) Abdulbaqi Saleh al-Ansari, chairman of Dimdex, said: “Dukhan Bank and Dimdex share the common goal of propelling the country’s overall development and helping it achieve the avowed goals underlined in Qatar National Vision 2030. The continued success of Dimdex, which hinges greatly on the support it receives from key national organisations such as Dukhan Bank, is imperative for the robust and sustainable growth of the country’s economy. I am confident that the mutually beneficial partnership will steer us towards yet another epoch-making edition.”“Dukhan Bank is greatly pleased to be the Silver Sponsor of the seventh edition of the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference,” said a bank spokesperson. “This sponsorship offers our bank the unique opportunity to support our nation in order to enhance maritime security and stability, which is integral to our national economy and country. We’re proud to join them as partners as, together, we seek out new horizons and attain bigger milestones geared towards achieving Qatar National Vision 2030.”Dukhan Bank operates a wide-spread network of branches and has a customer base of more than130,000 customers. Powered by strong infrastructure, technology-led solutions and highly skilled personnel, the bank offers a range of financial services and is firmly entrenched as one of the leaders in the Qatari market. Dukhan Bank’s association with Dimdex 2022 as Silver Sponsor and the increase in the number of domestic companies involved in the event, either as a sponsor or as an exhibitor, highlights the success that local companies have had in previous editions of Dimdex. Agreements worth over $32bn, many of them involving domestic companies, have been signed across the past editions, with the previous edition alone accounting for 35 partnerships, including 27 agreements signed at the event itself. In addition to commercial deals and other tangible benefits such as collaborations with international companies, the biennial event has also helped accelerate the ascent of Qatar’s indigenous defence industry onto the global stage. With Dimdex 2022 attracting a record number of domestic and international exhibitors, 14 country pavilions and high-level military delegations from different parts of the world, expectations from the upcoming edition are at an all-time high, as the growing list of sponsors indicates. While leading shipbuilder Fincantieri returns as Diamond Sponsor, missile systems developer MBDA’s strong ties with Dimdex continue to grow with the company returning as Gold Sponsor. Barzan Holdings, a commercial gateway for the defence industry in Qatar and well on its way to becoming one of the leading global defence and security investment groups, has been named Strategic Partner of Fincantieri 2022 and is also Gold Sponsor of the event. Mwani Qatar, which manages the nation's seaports and shipping terminals, has signed up as Bronze Sponsor.Dimdex 2022, which will feature a bigger exhibition area than previous editions, will witness local and global exhibitors showcasing the latest technological innovations in the maritime and naval sphere such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, anti-piracy systems and C5iSR systems. Among the various other highlights of the event are the visiting warships display at Hamad Port, which offers a not-to-be-missed opportunity to explore modern naval warships, and the Middle East Naval Commanders Conference on March 22, which will provide a stage for experts and key decision-makers to hold forth on the latest trends in maritime defence and security.
