AFG College with the University of Aberdeen welcomed a number of high profile local and international organisations to its annual career fair recently.
The companies participating in the fair included; Qatar Financial Centre, Qatar Gas, Microsoft, KPMG, PwC, Schlumberger, Qatar Airways, North Oil, Snoonu, Talabat, Voice of Initiatives, Qatar Primary Materials Company, Nestle, Innovation Café, and Mezaya Real Estate.
This is the first career event held on the campus since Covid-19 restrictions and over 100 students took advantage of the opportunity to meet with employers to discuss the many employment and internship opportunities that were being offered.
Hamad Saleh Almansouri, senior manager, Learning and Development at QFC commented: “It’s a great opportunity to meet students face to face at AFG College and discuss the array of career pathways that QFC has to offer, including internships. We believe that internships are a great way for students to learn in a professional working environment, about real life challenges, whilst at the same time building necessary employability skills, which will assist them during their future careers.”
Ghina Elkasti, careers and internships manager, AFG College said: “We were so happy to have such a diverse and eclectic mix of organisations join us for this year’s event. Our career fair gives local organisations the opportunity to connect with students and graduates who are eager to enter the workforce and demonstrate their abilities in the work place. It was great to hear first-hand from employers how useful they found the event and about the valuable conversations they had with students.”
