Nissan has announced the regional launch of the "bold and versatile, all-new Nissan Pathfinder 2022 – a fifth generation that is inspired by the original model and the nameplate’s 35-year heritage".
This "strengthens Nissan's SUV dominance in the Middle East", according to a press statement issued in Doha by Saleh Al Hamad Al Mana Co, the exclusive distributor of Nissan in Qatar.
"Building on the robust capabilities of its predecessors, the all-new Pathfinder has been completely redesigned from the ground up, with a host of mechanical and technological upgrades to cater to the growing needs of families in the region," the statement notes.
"Solidifying Nissan’s SUV dominance in the region”, the Pathfinder bolsters “Nissan’s SUV line-up and fills in the SUV-E segment, boosting the brand’s performance in a region where larger, premium SUVs are of high interest and demand”, it added.
This new model is set to advance Nissan’s success, where it experienced an impressive increase in sales across the Gulf during the first nine months of its 2021 fiscal year (April-December 2021).
Witnessing an increase of 9.9% in sales across the Gulf, the push in sales was driven by the UAE (which saw an increase of 17.7%), Bahrain (which saw a rise of 36.2%), as well as a 37.7% increase in Kuwait when compared to the same period the year before, the statement explains.
Furthering the success of previous models, the fifth-generation Pathfinder fuses traditional with modern touches and emphasises its bold design through a unique mix of elements and a strong identity.
Elegant C-shaped LED lights, a signature V-Motion grille, and a new logo lend the Pathfinder a powerful presence while the diagonal C-Pillar, 3-slot grille, and bold fender arches echo the styling of its predecessors.
Setting the Nissan Pathfinder 2022 apart from its predecessors is also a design that features a two-tone paint scheme for the first time ever on the Pathfinder, and a nine-speed automatic gearbox that offers 30% better acceleration than the outgoing model.
Nissan Middle East managing director Thierry Sabbagh said: “Today’s large SUV owners want a vehicle that conveys strength and capability, without compromising on comfort, convenience, or safety and we are proud to deliver that with the all-new Pathfinder.”
“Catering to a larger and more connected audience, the Pathfinder is set to build on our sales success and strengthen our SUV leadership across the region,” he added.
Nassim Mourani, general manager of the Automotive Group at Saleh Al Hamad Al Mana Co, said: "At Saleh Al Hamad Al Mana Co, we are honoured to launch the all-new Nissan Pathfinder in Qatar, giving our clients the chance to experience an outstanding driving pleasure that relies on a rich legacy.”
“We are confident that the all-new Pathfinder will meet the expectations of car enthusiasts in all categories, thanks to the world-class specifications of the multi-purpose vehicle,” he added.
Every inch of the Nissan Pathfinder 2022 is carefully designed to convey a sense of strength and capability, with a strong front face, wide stance, blister fenders and a shorter front overhang (versus the previous design).
Offering customers the luxury of choice, the SUV is available in three well-equipped grades – S, SV and SL – with each providing greater comfort, luxury and capability.
The interior of the adventure-ready Pathfinder features refined materials and a robust, open design.
Driver and passengers are greeted with a modern, spacious environment that enhances comfort and versatility with heated and ventilated front seats, available eight-way power driver’s seat, including four-way power lumbar support and available two-way power front passenger seat.
The SUV’s cargo area has increased, with a new easy-to-clean luggage box offering additional 54.4 litres of under-cargo storage.
The Nissan Pathfinder 2022 offers the latest Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies, including ProPILOT, which eases driver workload by reducing the amount of acceleration, steering and braking input under certain driving conditions, such as single-lane highway driving.
Prioritising the safety of those onboard, the Nissan Pathfinder 2022 is fitted with the Nissan Advanced Airbag system – with 10 airbags as standard – and the optional Nissan Safety Shield 360, offering enhanced protection through Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot intervention, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure intervention, High Beam Assist and Intelligent Forward Collision Warning.
Powering the Pathfinder is a 3.5-litre DOHC V6 engine with Direct Injection Gasoline, producing 271hp and 340NM of torque.
The nine-speed automatic transmission is matched with the proven V6 engine, providing strong acceleration, and boosting driver confidence on and off the tarmac.
The SUV also features an Intelligent 4WD system with 7-drive and terrain modes.
The Nissan Pathfinder 2022 is available in Qatar at Saleh Al Hamad Al Mana Co at its showroom on Salwa Road.
