The armed forces signed a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding in the military fields, during the third day of the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (Dimdex 2022). The Amiri Air Forces signed a MoU with Rheinmetall Barzan (a subsidiary of Barzan Holdings), regarding an experimental anti-drone system.
Acting Commander of the Qatari Amiri Air Forces Staff Brigadier-General Rashid Ali al-Qashouti signed the MoU for the Qatari Amiri Air forces and for Barzan Holding, it was signed by the Vice-President and head of the strategic procurement division, and for Rheinmetall Barzan Advanced Technologies' the company's CEO.
The military police signed a contract with the same company to upgrade its infrastructure. Commander of the Military Police Forces Staff Brigadier-General Rashid Mohamed al-Hajri signed the contract. The Qatari Joint Special Forces signed a number of MoUs with a host of local and international companies in defence industries. There were MoU signed with Turkey's Yonca-Onuk, Balhambar factory and Performance Marine, who are leading companies specialised in the maritime defence industry. They produce a number of boats that would enhance the capabilities of the special forces in the maritime field.
