Qatari Armed Forces signed a co-operation agreement in the defence and technical support fields for the Amiri Air Forces with Canada's CAE Incorporated, during the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (Dimdex 2022).
The agreement was signed by Adviser to the Chief of Staff for Supply and Finance Brigadier-General (Pilot) Dr Youssef Ahmed al-Qayed and President of CAE Marc-Olivier Sabourin. Al-Qayed said that CAE was a leading company in the field of simulation for defence systems, particularly aircraft, noting that some of its systems are used by the Amiri Air Forces. He stressed that the agreement provides the legal framework for engaging in detailed talks related to finances, the technical specifications for the simulating system for the joint operations, in order to link all of the air forces' systems and provide a simulation environment that reflects the operations of the air forces. He added that the project, after its implementation, will rely on Qatari cadres who will participate in all phases of the project. He stressed that the project was a big one and will represent an important addition to the air forces in particular, and the armed forces in general.
