Ivory Coast (Cote D'Ivoire) ambassador Dr Abdul Kadir Cisse and International Walking Football Federation (IWFF) of Asia and Qatar president and philanthropist Farhan al-Sayed, along with Ivory Coast professional players, met recently at the embassy to discuss ways on promoting sports in Qatar.
Al-Sayed noted that the envoy also plans to launch the Cote D'Ivoire Walking Football Club under his patronage and affiliation of IWFF Qatar in Doha soon, in addition to forging partnerships with various Qatari institutions aimed at enhancing international co-operation in the field of business, culture and sports.
“We want to unite the Cote D'Ivoire business and sports community living in Qatar to work together to create international co-operation for mutual benefits,” said al-Sayed.
Some of Ivory Coast’s football and basketball stars who attended the gathering at the embassy include: Farouq Abdullah Wase, Kouadip G Pascal, Diomonde Amara, Yannick Sagbo, Yohan Boli, Jonathan Kodja, and Diane Amara, who are members (and former players) of basketball and football clubs such as Al Shamal, Mesaimeer, Al Rayyan, and Gharafa.
