Doha chapter of ICAI organises International Women’s Day celebration

The Doha chapter of the ICAI celebrated International Women’s Day 2022 on March 20, which saw some 100-plus participants - comprising members and CA students - attend the event. This was the first event of the new executive committee under the leadership of Ankit Agarwal which took over from the previous committee on February 22. This was the chapter's first fully-fledged physical event after almost two years where all the speakers presented in-person. The entire session was co-ordinated and controlled by women members of the chapter. The meeting was opened by Sweta Anjara, who introduced the chapter chairperson, Ankit Agarwal. The chairperson then briefed the attendees on the event. Event sponsor, SBM gave a short introduction about its products and services that the members can avail of.The first speaker of the event was Latifa al-Darwish, founder and chairperson of Ettlaq Business Management. She spoke on the topic, 'Where are you after Covid-19?' An ex-Shell employee who is now an entrepreneur having her business in Qatar and Turkey, al-Darwish spoke about having different options for quickly adapting to changing dynamics and succeeding. The second speaker of the evening was another well-known Qatari woman entrepreneur, Asmaa al-Kuwari, who runs Asmaa Consulting and is the immediate past-president of International Coaching Federation. She spoke on 'the art of doing less to be more'. She was vocal about finding inner peace to lead a healthy life. The third speaker of the evening was Dr Harsha Bhatia, consultant - Neurology, working with Aster Medical Centre, who spoke about the importance of the mental wellness of women and in general. She spoke about the various kinds of stress that one can go through in life and how to overcome them, as well as how spouses can help each other in times of such stress and anxiety.Arti Agarwal introduced the three speakers and also handled the Q&A sessions. The event concluded with a cake-cutting by all the women members and the vote of thanks was proposed by Anjara, who felicitated the speakers and also offered gratitude to the speakers, sponsors, students and members who attended the event.
