Indian expatriate organisation Chaliyar Doha organised a quiz competition for Indian schools while observing the World Water Day. Birla Public School emerged as winners with 85 points while Bhavan's Public School (80) bagged the second position and Shantiniketan Indian School (70) secured the third position.
The quiz on the theme "Groundwater- Making the Invisible Visible," was for students in grades 9 to 12 and led by Manzoor Moideen. Jineshwar Nariyani and Bhagat Krishnan competed for Birla, Hussain Abdul Qadir and Sarang Shaji for Bhavan's and Unik Banderi and Bishal Chanda for Shantiniketan.
Mohammed al-Khalidi, prominent Qatari environmental activist, inaugurated. Sheikh Qasim Mohamed, Qatari socio-cultural activist, was the chief guest. Chaliyar Doha president Zameel Abdul Wahid Chaliyam presided and general secretary C T Siddeeque Cheruvadi welcomed.
Mohammed Ashraf, V C Mashhood, Ajmal Areekode and Chaliyar Doha womens wing office bearers Muneera Basheer, Shahana Ilyas, Shalina Rajesh, Muhsina Zameel, Sheetal and Sudha distributed prizes.
