In this connection, the Indian Physiotherapy Forum Qatar (IPFQ) conducted the first in a series of awareness programmes, 'Ergonomics at the workplace and everyday life', in which more than a 100 members participated, either in-person or online.
The Indian Business & Professionals Council (IBPC Qatar) and its Healthcare Focus Group recently launched the 'Converging Care' initiative. In this connection, the Indian Physiotherapy Forum Qatar (IPFQ) conducted the first in a series of awareness programmes, 'Ergonomics at the workplace and everyday life', in which more than a 100 members participated, either in-person or online.
Embassy of India counsellor (Political & Commerce) Angeline Premalatha, who inaugurated the session, stressed on the importance of ergonomics at the workplace for increased comfort and productivity, especially when people sit for long hours at their desk in awkward postures, looking at a screen without relief, causing several musculoskeletal issues.IBPC president Jaffer Us Sadiq commended the initiative which aims to engage and educate members and the community at large. IPFQ president Mohammed Shafi declared his commitment to promoting excellence within the community with more awareness programmes in future aimed at improving the quality of life and productivity as well as promoting a safety culture.IPFQ vice president Arun hosted the event. C P Zulfeequer, a 20 year veteran of physiotherapy at the Qatar Rehabilitation Institute - Hamad Medical Corporation, led the theory session, while Priyank Jain, a certified lymphedema therapist in Oncology at the Lymphedema Physiotherapy Department NCCCR - Hamad Medical Corporation, led the practical session.The Healthcare Focus Group brings together seven IBPC affiliated organisations: Qatar Association of Indian Dentists, Federation of Indian Nurses Qatar, Kerala Pharmacist Forum Qatar, Indian Physiotherapy Forum Qatar, United Nurses of India-Qatar, Indian Doctors Club Qatar, and Indian Association of Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care. IBPC, operating under the aegis of Embassy of India in Qatar, provides a platform for empowering and creating enrichment opportunities for Indian businesses and professionals to enhance Indo - Qatar trade and professional relations.
