HE the Assistant Foreign Minister Lolwah bint Rashid AlKhater met on Thursday with the visiting Ambassador for Human Rights at the Dutch Foreign Ministry Dr Bahia Tahzib-Lie.
The meeting reviewed bilateral relations and discussed issues of women's empowerment and emphasised the importance of their right to education, besides a number of issues of common interest.
Dr Tahzib-Lie expressed her thanks and gratitude for Qatar's efforts in providing aid and facilitating its access to Afghanistan, and for its great efforts to develop the workers' rights situation in the facilities of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and hoped that these efforts would continue.
She also expressed her country's desire to strengthen its relations with Qatar and co-ordinate common positions in international forums, stressing the importance of co-operation between the two countries in education in general, women's education and combating poverty in Afghanistan in particular.
She noted that her country sensed Qatar's continuous desire to develop the role of women in various fields.
HE the Assistant Foreign Minister stressed Qatar's desire and its continuation to develop its legislation that seeks to promote human rights as well as workers' rights. (QNA)
