The Ministry of Sports and Youth and the UN Children's Fund (Unicef) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance co-operation in the areas of youth empowerment.
The MoU was signed by HE the Minister of Sports and Youth Salah bin Ghanem al-Ali, and the Director of the Unicef office in Doha, Anthony MacDonald.
The memorandum stipulates strengthening co-operation and exchanging expertise and experiences in the field of youth, expanding horizons of cooperation in youth fields at the local, regional and international levels, and benefiting from Unicef's international expertise in this field.
HE Minister of Sports and Youth Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali said that the signing of the memorandum of understanding falls within the context of Qatar's efforts to cooperate with Unicef, especially on issues related to youth issues.
His Excellency explained that the two parties are working to expand opportunities for young people to engage in the sustainable development of society, and to enhance youth participation in economic and social processes in line with the plans and policies of the State of Qatar related to youth empowerment.
For his part, MacDonald said that the MoU would contribute to achieving the aspirations of young people for effective participation in a way that serves their ambition and achieves the goals of sustainable development for society. (QNA)
